Chickpea is a plant from the legume family with fruits that are rich in starchy and nitrogenous substances. Its leaves are 5 – 15 mm in size and its buds can grow up to 30 mm. It grows only one year, propagates by seed and is one of the easiest plants to grow. It is grown in barren areas. It withstands water scarcity well and does not care much for soil quality. If the weather is not warm enough though, the output will not be satisfactory. Chickpea is one of the richest legumes in terms of protein. It contains iron, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, and calcium. The effects of strengthening the immune system and protecting the body comes from these minerals.
